, a cosmic brawl that showcased the alien bounty hunter’s impressive skills and physical invulnerability.

In a shocking turn of events, Lobo forced Darkseid to retreat, and ultimately erased the villain from the universe, solidifying his status as a formidable force to be reckoned with.

Of all the villains in the DC Universe, Darkseid is regularly shown to be one of the most powerful and the most dangerous – making it all the more surprising that the one character who has had the most success fighting Darkseid isn’t Superman, but in fact, the alien bounty hunter Lobo.

Tales from the Dark Multiverse: Blackest Night #1 – by Tim Seeley and Kyle Hotz – features the surprising fight between Lobo and Darkseid. The story is a twisted look at what would happen if Nekron had succeeded in wiping out all life in the universe during Geoff John’s Blackest Night.

In their encounter, Lobo does more than just take on Darkseid; in fact, he faced off against the New God whose powers had been greatly enhanced by combining with Nekron. Still, remarkably, Lobo seemingly had no issue fighting this cosmic threat.

As Darkseid tries to fight off Lobo, Lobo simply keeps multiplying and even manages to gouge Darkseid’s eyes, removing his ability to use the Omega Effect for a time.

As one of DC’s New Gods, Darkseid possesses exceptional strength and durability. Further, his use of the Omega Effect has made him one of the DCU’s most prominent threats since his introduction. His strength allows him to match both superpowered characters such as Superman and Wonder Woman at the same time. It’s nearly impossible to beat Darkseid in a straight one-on-one fight, though one surprising character came as close as anyone has: Lobo. Though Darkseid starts off the fight by immediately vaporizing “the Main Man,” the villain did not account for his opponent’s unstoppable healing factor.

As all Czarnians are, Lobo is practically immortal due to his healing ability. Spilling a single drop of Lobo’s blood will cause the blood to regenerate into an entirely new Lobo. Even though Darkseid seemingly completely destroys Lobo, the bounty hunter needs only a trace of his DNA to regenerate. As Darkseid tries to fight off Lobo, Lobo simply keeps multiplying and even manages to gouge Darkseid’s eyes, removing his ability to use the Omega Effect for a time. As depicted in a surprisingly even match-up, with Darkseid having no real way to permanently kill Lobo.

While Darkseid will always be one of the most powerful villains in the DC Universe,
Lobo
remains one of the most dangerous and skilled bounty hunters in comics history.

Lobo Forces Darkseid To Retreat – Essentially Making Him Victorious

The Main Man Fights Darkseid To A Standstill

As Lobo’s attention is drawn elsewhere, Darkseid decides to retreat and instructs his minions to kill both Lobo and his clones, but it’s not made clear exactly how Darkseid expects them to do this. It also doesn’t matter, as Lobo manages to reset the universe shortly after, which erases Darkseid and Nekron from the universe. While Darkseid will always be one of the most powerful villains in the DC Universe, Lobo remains one of the most dangerous and skilled bounty hunters in comics history, to the point even Darkseid seemingly can’t beat the Main Man.
