Fans will notice a couple of Zack Snyder movies on this list, but despite being a polarizing director, he has made two beloved DC films. Watchmenis based on Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons‘ iconic comic book, in which a retired group of heroes’ past emerges, threatening to expose their dark secrets, all while the world’s safety is in danger.

The film has many issues, and even the creators aren’t fans of it, but that didn’t stop IMDb users from giving it a respectable 7.6 rating. Superhero movies aren’t just for kids, and Watchmen is an ultra-gritty, dark, and mature story that resonated with many IMDb users, as many of the upcoming films are known for their grittiness.

However, these threats appear sooner than anticipated, with Darkseid’s (Ray Porter) forces invading Earth to claim the Mother Boxes.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League encounters many of the same problems as Snyder’s other films, including the overuse of slow motion and overly dramatic moments. However, fans can’t deny his incredible sense of style, which he infuses into each movie, creating an ultra-stylized superhero film with epic action and memorable moments. With some of the Justice League’s most powerful characters, this film is a smash hit.
