DC Comics gave Batman a whole new logo, though most fans didn’t catch it until Marvel revealed it.

Per Bleeding Cool, the Batman logo seen on the covers of the upcoming Deadpool/Batman and Batman/Deadpool crossover one-shots has officially been confirmed as the new logo for the Dark Knight going forward. The logo will also appear on the upcoming Batman ongoing series from acclaimed writer Matt Fraction and all-star artist Jorge Jiménez. “Jorge and I have a very superhero-forward kind of take on Batman,” Fraction said of the upcoming Batman series. “We’ve got a new Batmobile, we’ve got a new costume, we’ve got new characters, and we’ve got a lot of old ones too —good and bad; all the stuff that makes Batman the coolest character in comics. We want to celebrate it all.”

The new Batman series is slated to begin after the first six issues of the currently ongoing Hush 2 storyline. The storyline has been playing out in the pages of Batman by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee, with the eponymous villain having returned to terrorize Gotham City all over again. This time around, Hush has picked up the pace, as this storyline will only run for half the length of the original Hush, which stood at 24 issues in total. Recently, Hush has turned his attention to Jason Todd, who is still reeling from the effects of the Lazarus Pit and has been particularly open to manipulation because of it.

While fans got their first look at the new logo with the reveal of Fraction’s new Batman #1, it didn’t seem to fully register until it was seen again once Marvel revealed the cover of the upcoming Deadpool/Batman #1. This is the first of at least two planned sets of one-shot crossovers between Marvel and DC Comics. Deadpool/Batman #1 will be written by Zeb Wells and feature art by Greg Capullo. The issue will be followed by Batman/Deadpool #1 by writer Grant Morrison and artist Dan Mora. Morrison said of the project, “No way I could turn down the chance to work with Dan Mora again, one of my all-time favorite artistic collaborators… Expect 4th wall-busting mayhem, owls, blood, blades, and at least one giant typewriter.”

Batman #1 goes on sale this September.
