Warning! Spoilers for Peacemaker Presents: The Vigilante / Eagly Double Feature #2!It won’t be long before Peacemaker returns for a brand-new season and when it does, it should include an addition to Christopher Smith’s wardrobe. DC Comics has an amazing new series inspired by the continuity of the show, with consultation from James Gunn, to boot, and it just introduced the perfect upgrade to Peacemaker’s iconic costume (borrowed from one notable hero).
InPeacemaker Presents: The Vigilante / Eagly Double Feature #2’s story “Peaceful Vacation, Chapter 2” by Rex Ogle, James Gunn, and Matteo Lolli, Peacemaker and Eagly wake up after being drugged on a plane. They, along with their fellow passengers and captain, are being targeted by a mysterious shooter, who Peacemaker easily takes out.
With Smith’s vacation ruined, he decides it’s time to bust out his costume and kick ass. He strips down to the buff and readies to change into his costume. Comically, his costume is hidden in the Flash’s ring, which Peacemaker stole to easily transport his outfit.

The Show Should Borrow This Amazing Reference to Flash History
Peacemaker practically became a household name thanks to his appearance in The Suicide Squad and his self-titled spin-off series. In the last few years, Peacemaker has been making more and more appearances in the DC Universe, including playing a fairly large role alongside Amanda Waller during the Dawn of DC (right up until Absolute Power). The second series of the DCU Peacemaker show is almost here, and to really hype fans, DC has begun publishing Peacemaker Presents: The Vigilante / Eagly Double Feature, a series inspired by the show’s continuity (and, as mentioned, James Gunn serves as a story consultant).
It should be made clear that the DC Comics series is a story inspired by the show’s continuity, and that it isn’t canon to Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU. This makes sense as Peacemaker references the Justice League, which doesn’t exist in the DCU yet, and fans aren’t even certain if the Flash is around yet. That being said, anyone who knows Gunn’s style knows that he loves these little in-jokes to DC history and the Flash ring would be a really fun addition to the next Peacemaker season (especially if Peacemaker actually finds a good use for it).

Why Carry Around Cumbersome Helmets When He Could Use the Flash Ring?
Everyone recalls Peacemaker having numerous helmets, each of which had a power (though how practical each one was varied). Instead of having to pick just one, why not store them all in the Flash ring? Not only would it be a funny reference, it’d give Smith a lot more options when he’s taking on bigger threats, and not paint him into a corner if he decided to wear the wrong helmet. Maybe it’s a stretch, but if this comic could do it, there’s no reason why Peacemaker can’t one day get a Flash ring of his own in the DCU.
