The Watchtower is perhaps the most secure place on Earth-Prime. Even ignoring its orbital location and advanced security system, it is continually staffed by the World’s Finest superheroes. However, one unlikely duo of supervillains will attempt the impossible this August, planning a heist so they can rob the Justice League.
This unlikely scenario will play out in Cheetah and Cheshire Rob the Justice League. Running for six issues, the miniseries will be scripted by beloved Wonder Woman writer Greg Rucka. The art will be provided by Birds of Prey artist Nicola Scott, Titans’ colorist Annette Kwok, and letterer Troy Peteri.
The story will center around the titular villains as they plan the ultimate heist. It is a challenge to them both, as neither of them are thieves by nature. One is one of the world’s most infamous assassins and a master poisoner. The other is a scholar cursed by a dark deity to become more beast than woman. Despite this, they will assemble a crew to help them do the impossible and hope to get away before someone stabs someone else in the back.

“I won’t bury the lede,” Rucka stated. “This is a crew of villains, or at least nominal bad guys. Not one of them has access to—let alone would be welcomed aboard—the Justice League Watchtower. We’re not making this easy on them. But for Cheetah especially, this is an all-or-nothing play—she needs to do this job, and she’s not going to let anything, or anyone, keep her from getting what she’s after.”
Rucka adds that Scott’s dramatic and detailed storytelling is ideal for “a classic heist story told in a unique setting.” The story promises the twists, turns, and strong character and interpersonal drama fans have come to expect from these creators. But Rucka warns those expecting “a grim, dark crime caper” that they may be in for a surprise. There may, after all, be honor among thieves.
