DC Comics has created many beloved and famous superhero teams, from the Justice League to the Teen Titans. The latter team, the Teen Titans, has a broad appeal, as comic readers of all ages enjoy their adventures. This explains the popularity of their animated series (of the same name) and the follow-up (Teen Titans Go!). However, most fans have probably wondered who is the most powerful on the team and why.
Like many other DC Comics teams, the Teen Titans have changed a bit over the years. Heroes come and go, adding new characters to the roster while known heroes run off for new adventures. Iconic team members include Robin, Starfire, Cyborg, Raven, and Beast Boy, but they’re far from the only members to work under this title.
Both Iterations Have Worked with the Teen Titans
Garth, Kaldur’ahm, Jackson Hyde have used this name
Member of the Aquaman Family and the Teen Titans
DC Comics loves to have proteges and sidekicks pass down mantles, and Aqualad is no exception. The original version of Aqualad, Garth, first appeared in Adventure Comics #269. A second version of the character, Kaldur’ahm, was created for the Young Justice TV show, and an altered version of that character, Jackson Hyde, was introduced to comics in 2010.
While every version of Aqualad is powerful, Jackson Hyde is arguably the strongest iteration. He’s also the son of Black Manta, which adds some complications to the character. In spite of this, he’s a powerful hero with vast potential, much like his predecessors. Aqualad’s abilities include amphibious transformation (obviously), electrokinesis, and enhanced vision. He can also control the flow of water, much like Mera.

Nightwing Is One of the Teen Titan’s Most Famous Members
Dick Grayson Was Previously Known as Robin
Protector of Blüdhaven
Has gone by many names, including Robin, Talon, Red X, etc.
Dick Grayson has made quite the name for himself in DC Comics. He started as one of Batman’s Robins before putting that mantle aside. From there, Grayson played with many mantles, including Talon and Red X. However, the one that stuck is Nightwing. It goes without saying that Grayson is a strong and powerful addition to any team, since he was personally trained by Bruce Wayne himself.

The Teen Titans team includes some of DC’s best young heroes, but some of these sidekicks have origin stories that are far less than iconic.
Power comes in many forms, which is something Dick Grayson has proven time and time again. While Nightwing may not have superpowers, he’s strong, fast, intelligent, and reliable. Grayson may have learned much from Batman, but he also has his own skills to rely on, including acrobatics. He has survived many impossible events in DC Comics, and he’ll continue to go up against any heavy hitter the universe chooses to throw his way.

One Version of Kid Flash Stands Out from the Rest
Wallace West Is One of Many Speedsters in the DC Universe
Wallace Rudolph “Ace” West III
Created by Van Jensen, Robert Venditti, Ron Frenz, Brett Booth
Kid Flash is another mantle that’s changed hands many times. As the name suggests, any version of Kid Flash is exceptionally powerful, being one of the fastest people on Earth. Enter Wallace Rudolph West, who usually goes by Ace. It’s a lot to keep track of, especially when there’s another DC Comics speedster named Wally West, but it’s also fun. Ace is the fourth Kid Flash, and as such, he’s a Speed Force conduit.
While he may not be quite as fast as Barry Allen, Ace is still powerful and talented. He’s got a lot of potential, which makes him perfect for the Teen Titans roster. This version of Kid Flash has also worked alongside the Justice League Unlimited, Titans, and Defiance, all of which prove that Ace always goes above and beyond to save the day.

The Youngest Blue Beetle Has Impressive Powers
Jaime Reyes Is the Latest in a Line of Heroes
Created by Keith Giffen, John Rogers, and Cully Hamner
First appeared in Infinite Crisis #3
Jaime Reyes is another hero to pick up a familiar mantle: Blue Beetle. The original Blue Beetle, Dan Garret, never served on the Teen Titans, nor did the second version of the character, Ted Kord, so at least this one is a bit easier to keep track of. Jaime gained his abilities after bonding with the famous Blue Beetle scarab, and while that might sound terrifying, it’s worked out for him. As with many superhero origin stories, he was in the right place at the right time.

While the Absolute Universe is still in its infancy, there are a few DC teams that fans would love to see reimagined by Darkseid in the future.
As the Blue Beetle, Jaime has scarab armor he can turn into any kind of weapon. The weapons are really only limited by his creativity, as he’s produced everything from basic melee tools to advanced plasma cannons. It’s impressive and highly dangerous. Good thing he’s a hero working alongside the Teen Titans.

Beast Boy Can Transform Into Any Animal
Garfield “Gar” Logan Is Famous for His Animal Shifting Abilities
Also known as Changeling
First appeared in Doom Patrol #99
Garfield Logan, better known as Beast Boy, is a famous and beloved member of the Teen Titans team. He’s arguably one of the more flippant personalities on the roster, but that’s one of the (many) reasons why fans love him. During his time in the comic book universe, Beast Boy has worked alongside several teams. While he’s possibly best known for working with the Teen Titans (and later, the Titans), he’s also been a member of Doom Patrol, New Young Justice, and Justice League Unlimited.
As his name implies, Beast Boy has the ability to transform into any animal. Not only is this ability incredibly powerful on the surface, but the transformation lends him the abilities of whatever animal he turns into. It’s not just for appearances, as Beast Boy can fly like a bird, swim like a fish, or thunder through obstacles like a rhino.

Wonder Girl Is Connected to the Gods of Olympus
Cassie Sandsmark Grew to Become a Hero in Her Own Right
Created by John Byrne
Was a member of Young Justice before joining the Teen Titans
After Donna Troy put down the mantle of Wonder Girl, Cassie Sandsmark stepped in to fill the void. Like the hero who came before her, Cassie hails from Amazon, though with a slightly different backstory. Wonder Girl is the daughter of Lennox, making her the granddaughter of Zeus, which gives her powerful ties, not to mention immense levels of responsibility and potential.

The Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers have faced some strong enemies, proving they could take on other powerful teams like the Teen Titans or the TMNT.
Wonder Girl has been a powerful hero since she debuted in the pages of Wonder Woman. She has Amazonian physiology and training, which should be the envy of any hero. She later gained a power boost from Ares, though her abilities have been changed and retconned a few times since then. Regardless, Cassie is a powerful hero with limitless potential.

Cyborg Is a Talented and Powerful Hero
Vic Stone Struggles With His Abilities, But Is Undeniably Strong
Created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez
First appeared in DC Comics Presents #26
It’s safe to say that Victor Stone, aka Cyborg, has gone through a lot over the years. His abilities have waxed and waned with the times, as new timelines (Flashpoint, New 52, Rebirth) changed how his backstory and body functioned. Despite this, Cyborg is consistently one of the most powerful members of any team he’s on, especially the Teen Titans.
Cyborg lives up to his name; he has cybernetic enhancements and is essentially a walking computer. As such, he has superhuman strength, stamina, and durability. Notably, Cyborg can create almost any weapon he needs, especially if given time to prepare. For this reason, he’s stood up against some of the biggest evils in DC Comics and lived to tell the tale.
3
Starfire Is a Bright Soul and Powerful Hero
Koriand’r Overcame Her Tragic Past
Heir to the throne of Tamaran
Ousted in a coup by her own sister, Komand’r
Koriand’r of Tamaran is probably better known by another name: Starfire. Starfire is famous for her brilliant and often bubbly personality, as she is easily one of the most compassionate superheroes around. She has earned her reputation by sheer determination, never letting anything weigh her down for too long. Starfire has had a difficult past and was even tortured by alien scientists, but she found a home with the Teen Titans.

The Justice League is filled with DC’s heaviest hitters, which makes them more than a match for comic teams like The Seven and the Avengers.
Starfire is also a powerful hero with superhuman speed, strength, and durability, not to mention her famous starbolts. She can absorb ultraviolet energy (she’s actually dependent on UV radiation). Her power scale makes her capable of creating massive, supernova-level explosions. She’s yet another hero the Teen Titans and other teams, like the Justice League, are lucky to have on their side.

One Version of Superboy Is a Clone of Two Powerful DC Comics Characters
Kon-El Was Primed to Become One of the Strongest Heroes of All Time
Goes by Kon-El or Conner Kent
Created by Karl Kesel and Tom Grummett
Conner Kent, aka Kon-El and Superboy, is one of many members of the Superman family. His history is admittedly a bit complicated, as he’s a clone of Superman and Lex Luthor (yes, really). As such, Superboy has many of Superman’s classic abilities, from immense speed to sheer strength and everything in between. Likewise, Connor feels conflicted about his origin, thanks to the DNA Lex Luthor brought into the mix.
He made his first appearance in The Adventures of Superman #500, where he identified himself as Superman. After trying on a few other monikers, Kon-El settled on the name Superboy. While this version of Superboy hasn’t played a major role in current DC Comics continuity, he’s still one of the strongest members in the history of the Teen Titans.

Raven Is the Daughter of the Demon Trigon
Rachel Roth Is a Hero With Vast Access to Magic and Darkness
Created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez
Is an Azarathian Cambion, a demon/human hybrid
Raven is a fan-favorite among Teen Titans readers and viewers, and for good reason. She’s as powerful as she is complex, complete with a dark backstory thanks to her father. Raven’s father is the demon Trigon, but she’s always resisted this influence and instead forged a path as a hero. Raven proves that one can use even the darkest of gifts, such as access to dark magic, for good.
While the Teen Titans have had many strong members over the years, Raven is easily the most powerful of them all. Her abilities are fast and nearly limitless, as she can astral project, shadow travel, and more. Raven has been known to perform reality-warping spells, manipulate emotions, and otherwise delve into a world of magic inaccessible to even the most experienced magic users of the universe.
